The beach in Hashi is part of the Iwami Seaside Park and is a popular recreation destination. During any given week of the year you may see surfers, windsurfers, kite surfers, fishermen, motor paragliders, and more. The area is also well-known for its beautiful sunsets. People travel from all over the Chugoku region to enjoy the natural beauty of the area.
However, while it is such a popular and naturally lovely location, it is also plagued by an abundance of flotsam and jetsam from fishing vessels in the Japan Sea. Additionally, there is only one scheduled beach cleaning each year by the local community. Quite simply, it is a shame that more is not done to keep the beach clean. As such, one of the main goals of Beikokudo is to develop programs and events to foster a sense of ownership and pride of the beach in those who visit here. To this end, Beikokudo is currently working on an annual calendar of beach cleaning events and other projects to bring more volunteers to assist in keeping Hashi beach beautiful.

波子ビーチは石見海浜公園の一部で、人気のレクリエーションスポットです。一年を通して、サーファー、ウィンドサーファー、カイトサーファー、釣り人、モーターパラグライダーなどを見ることができます。この地域は美しい夕日でも有名で、中国地方の自然の美しさを楽しむ人々がこの地域に訪れます。
自然の美しい場所であると同時に、日本海の海流によって流れ着くゴミ、多くの漁業投棄物、ネット、ロープ、電球などにも悩まされています。地元コミュニティによるビーチの清掃は、毎年1回予定されていますが十分ではありません。ビーチをきれいに保つためにこれ以上のことを行なっていきたいと考えます。
米刻堂の主な目標の1つは、ここを訪れる人々に波子ビーチを愛し誇りを育むプログラムやイベントを発信することです。
この目標のため、米刻堂は現在、波子ビーチを美しく保つためのボランティアを増やすため、ビーチの清掃イベントやその他のプロジェクトに取り組んでいます。
